The most important thing to check for is that the hoodia you
buy has been tested by an independent laboratory to confirm
the identity of hoodia. Why would you put something in your body
if you did not know what it was? We would strongly discourage
you from buying from anyone without these results.
NOTE: Make sure the company name on the certificate matches the name of the company that you are buying from. Otherwise it is probably fake!

There
are certain golden rules which you have to follow when purchasing
hoodia. They are listed below.
1.
Go with a product containing 100% Hoodia Gordonii Powder and no
other ingredients. The San tribesmen do not mix their hoodia with
anything and it has worked pretty well for them.
Many companies use fillers in order to hide the fact that they
are not selling genuine hoodia or are only using a very small
amount of hoodia. Be especially careful of products containing
the following ingredients: Magnesium Stearate, rice flour or
croscarmellose sodium. It is often claimed that extra ingredients
are necessary to process the hoodia into a useable form, this
is simply not true! If you are in any doubt you can ask them to
read you the label.View Label
2.
Be wary of hoodia being sold in tablets rather than capsules.
Many unscrupulous companies will attempt to sell low quality hoodia
in tablets since they are a very convenient way to hide the lack of
genuine hoodia.
3.
Insist on Source Material from South Africa. Do not accept from
China or other countries. Always ask if not sure. Look for a Certificate
of Origin on the site. This document will validate for you the
country of origin. No Certificate of Analysis - do not buy.
4.
Pure Hoodia Extract is not the same as Pure Hoodia. Extract is a lower quality product and a much cheaper alternative. Insist on Pure Hoodia, not the cheaper extract version.
5.
Beware of companies that attempt to deceive the unsuspecting customer
with their play on words. Companies which sell tablets which claim to have the equivalent of 700mg of raw hoodia, actually only contain 35mg of powder. If we used this formula then our capsules of 400mg each would be the equivalent of 8000mg of raw hoodia plant.
All hoodia which is
available to buy in capsule (or tablet) form is 20:1 ratio because this
is what happens when you remove the water content from hoodia
and create a powder. For every 20kgs of raw hoodia plant you will get 1kg of hoodia powder.
6.
Be very wary of any hoodia which is too cheap. Pure Hoodia Gordonii
is scarce, it is not cheap. If it looks too good to be true then
it probably is. We believe our hoodia to be the best value available
anywhere, this is because of how much hoodia it contains, not
just because it is such a low price.
Note:
At the request of some of our customers we have been asked to
tell you that if you purchase hoodia (or any other product) from
outside of the European Union you will be liable for VAT and customs
duties. Not to mention delivery delays.
Is
all Hoodia the same?
Not all Hoodia Gordonii is the same; from its origins in the Desert
region of South Africa it is now grown in China, Mexico and even
the US. Although it retains the name Hoodia Gordonii its chemical
constituents can be quite different. Lets look at an example and
compare the differences of another fruit.
In
comparing fruits lets look at the orange, no matter where it is
grown it is still called an orange but the taste, colour, texture
among other things are different. California oranges are known
as eating oranges they have just the right amount of juice and
texture for peeling and eating. Florida oranges are very juicy
oranges with a thinner skin and most Florida oranges are made
into juice and are not eaten as readily whole. Brazilian oranges
on the other hand have a slight bitter taste. All oranges are
still oranges for the matter of comparison yet you can see they
are uniquely different.
It
is the same with other natural products as in this case Hoodia
Gordonii you cannot compare the effects of appetite suppression
with Hoodia Gordonii grown in other parts of the world. Only the
Hoodia Gordonii grown in the Kalahari region of South Africa has
proven itself effective in controlling appetite.
